The best way to shop in Mahabaleshwar is to visit the streets lined with small shops and stalls selling a variety of items. You'd find quite a range of items here, from Clothes to Kolhapuri slippers to leather goods and other handmade items.

Strawberries, Mulberries and carrots are the speciality of Mahabaleshwar. One should not forget to try the Corn grown locally available in both roasted and boiled form. Corn pattice made from it is delicious. The food prepared with local vegetables has a unique taste and one should also try the small tomatoes which look like cherries.

Do not forget to pick up some chikki, a local sweetmeat made of nuts and jaggery. There are a variety of local brands of honey available in the bazaar. Homemade jams, preserves and marmalades made of farm-fresh berries are also a must take home.
